Biography

Zachary Antonio Diaz (b. 1991) is an international Fine Artist and Graphic Designer. He received his BFA in Studio Arts at the University of South Carolina in 2018, and was recently commissioned by USC as a mural artist for their Columbia campus. In 2018 he also attended the Undergraduate Residency Program at the New York Academy of Art in New York City, NY. Diaz has exhibited his work in the United States and Europe in numerous group and solo exhibitions such as "Like Pages In My Diary" at Stormwater Studios in Columbia, SC, the Summer Residency Showcase at the New York Academy of Art, the International Centre for the Arts’ Summer Show in Umbria, Italy, and more. 

In 2016, he placed 1st in USC's Student Showcase, and later founded The Artist Guild, a student-artist organization on USC's Columbia campus that facilitates and encourages collaborations between multiple forms of artistic expression. In 2017, he received the University of South Carolina's Edmond Yaghjian Artistic Excellence Award, along with a 3-week Artist-in-Residence opportunity at the International Centre for the Arts in Umbria, Italy. Zachary Diaz’s work now sits in several permanent and private collections in the United States and Italy. He is currently the Artist in Residence at 701 Center for Contemporary Art in Columbia, SC.
